phwoar, it's got a big click on that!

I had a big single click of 1.57 yesterday! I added some pictures above the adsense and it's upped my click-thru rate nicely. Only 3 clicks but they all added up to $1.98 which can't be bad!

I've just installed an image hosting script on one of my sites which will get the ads treatment when it gets a few users, for now it can collect names and emails for each registered user so that might worth something too! the list the list!

My topsites directory is going well, over 70 sites listed there and 3 lots of adsense ads which bring in a few pennies a day. The best thing about adsense for me? putting it on a page I was going to make anyway and knowing that over the period of the year it will bring in a few dollars. I make quite a lot of sites and information pages for my elottery affiliates which tend to get viralled when they have something useful on them so an extra bit of income from something I was already doing is fine by me!

I've also created a splash page for my free go on the elottery site and adjusted the code so other elottery members can use it too, that's gonna help with increasing page rank and the link to my team portal is on every page view so when that gets some sweet traffic I will add a small non-competitive advert on there too.

one more... I coded a fair rotator script to be used with the forum team, the stats have an adsense module on that too so another one to add to the "set and forget" list.

only around 10 dollars a week coming in but that's 500 bucks a year for stuff I was already going to do anyway. oh, there's some income coming from my xbox 360 swiki too so I made a new swiki that should attract a higher adsense rate. I'm just linking to it from my high PR sites so it gets noticed quicker and then it should make me some more pennies.

wouldn't it be nice to have 10 dollars a day coming in? as long as I keep doing what I'm doing then I see no reason why that target wont be reached by March 2007.

It grows in your sleep!

It's been a while since I posted mainly because I have been busy growing my lotto business up to it's highest level in 2 years. Sweet! Part of that business is providing support, earlier posts explain how I set up a website with some training videos using camtasia and put adsense either side of the video pane.

today it got 3 clicks at 1.15 USD each! it grew without me knowing, I think I had better use the more advanced version of channels and label each video differently so I know which ones are the profitable ones.

And I thought I wouldn't have anything to do at work on a Friday! :-)

woohoo it's up to 3.90 USD

I had my best day yesterday with adsense earnings, $3.90 !!
It looks like my new pages are doing well, I did some more and promoted them on some forums (I'll do some newsletters to subscribers too) and within a day they had hundreds of PV's and around 6% CTR which I am told is quite good!

The ads I put on my elottery site are doing well too, I changed from adsense to my own ads pointing to various other interests of mine but did them in the same style as adsense and they have been getting clicks! not only that, they are getting people as prospects. The grab a grand competition, the results by email and others are all getting at least one person a day entering their name and email address so I'm really pleased with that. I'm also really pleased with the php I wrote and added to the wordpress template that randomizes the placement and content of the ads. teehee the geek in me is proud.

Not expanding my empire for the adsense at the moment, I think it's important to do stuff that you are passionate about. If someone isn't interested in something, how can they make a site about it that's interesting? they can't!
I'm in this for the long term gain, no adsenser ever made a fortune in a week. It takes time and effort to build up a portfolio of websites. Sure, you could buy a whole set of ready made ones but so can anyone else. Not unique, not yours, not easy!

Onwards and upwards, multiple streams of income and list building is what I'm concentrating on now. It's been years since I started to do the internet thing and it's only the past 2 years that I've been making any money so now I'm up for making lots more!

62c for 1 click!

I made a single click earning of 62c yesterday. Because I use channels on my adsense settings I know where it came from and I know what to do about it... make some more pages just like the one it came from!

That's what I am going to try and do this week, it's spurred me on to make a portal site for the current pages too so lots of geeky things to play with this week.

My elottery business is going well too, some new members coming in and eager for some advice so hopefully they'll be able to listen to it and go and do something other than complain about how they have tried everything and it didn't work. Seriously, if they have tried 'everything' then what can I tell them? they would have done it already!

Adsense referrals add up!

I had my first day of adsense earnings going over 2 dollars yesterday! 1 dollar was from a firefox with google toolbar download. Sweet! Now I feel the need to make sure everyone I know has firefox installed when I visit their house. I don't care who it is, they iz gettin it!

My biggest click so far was for 34 cents which isn't bad. Just a few more thousand of them and I'm away.

My fake google ads seem to be working, 3 more prospects entered into the competition to win 1000 pounds and a couple more have subscribed to my How to Earn a Wage at Home series so looks like people prefer google type ads compared to simple internal links!!

Fake adsense code!

I have been getting a few clicks on my lottery site but mainly for less than 5 cents and more than likely, it went through to a competitors site. They got more clicks than my own personal banners so I decided to make fake google ads that all point to my own domains!

I whipped up a nifty bit of php to randomize the ads that are shown and slipped a call to it every 3 posts in the main wordpress loop.

They look quite good and I'm pleased with the results. (VWD Lottery Blog)

I've been a merry php'er this week and it's really satisfying to expand my geeky-ness. My training videos (as described in previous post) page has been php-ified after I learnt how to print the contents of a directory out. I went from a few lines of code on a snippet to a full dynamic page content made from php. Random blocks of adsense code fitted in between clickable links to all the videos found in the subdirectory. Oh what a great geeker I am!. (Affiliate Video Training).

Now time to make another site, as Wissam has done, he suggests making a turnkey site which I am more than capable of doing (especially with the right script!). I already have a couple PR4 sites and directories that are ready for something new so now to choose my subject....(suggestions?)

Make money with Camtasia

I've been making instructional videos for my lotto affiliates this week using Camtasia. It's a great package for showing someone exactly what they need to do and it's quite easy to edit and annotate too. I put some google ads on either side of the production and if someone finds one of them interesting they give it a click!

My latest video is at this page and has already had a click! I haven't even put the URL out to my team yet. My lotto blog is only making a few cents a day now. The problem is there isn't enough lottery adsense out there seeing as google doesn't like gambling in any way. It was ok to start because many lottery affiliates try out google for advertising (until their ads get removed) and many visit my blog. When they see someone advertising a lottery syndicate on adsense they automatically click it to see what the competition is like and I get a few pennies.

I'm not sure the space could be used more profitably with my own ads though...hmmm maybe I will make some ads for my own things but put them up just like adsense code. No-one used to click the banner I had for my grab a grand page when it was there but there have been multiple clicks on the adsense banner so time for a re-design methinks! Can't just rely on adsense to pay my rent!

I've started a new co-op venture with some experienced affiliates where we all put together and help each other out with a forced matrix type deal so everyone gets the same benefits. It's a pretty cool Lottery Syndicate and with the amount of experience we have all got, we should get it up to free play within a few weeks.

awesome!

Who else would work hours and hours for 30c ??

hehe, I have spent literally hours and hours trying to get some sort of working dynamic buttons on the Aardvark topsites script. It seems there is some issue with the cache. I just couldn't get it to work properly with dynamic buttons, they would show but then they wouldn't update so I went about searching for another topsite script.

Evotopsites was that script! I am a member of blogtopsites and I noticed that they didn't have any trouble with the dynamic buttons so I set about downloading the script but when you visit the publishers site, the button for downoading produces a 404 error. It seems nowhere on the internet has a hosted version to download either !! arrgh. :-)

I found a way to get it though!

yey!! ... you would think.... but no...

now I have to contend with a "permission denied" when I try and run the setup script. I did all the chmod's correctly, I tried and tried, different directories, diferrent chmods and finally I found out that my server doesn't allow a chmod of 777, it can only do as much as 755 which it turns out - is good enough!!

yey again!! .... you would think... but no...

now the evotopsites script works as admin but the public facing page blanks when the "register" button is clicked. damn.

although.... after much fiddling of buttons, I was able to revert it to an old template and now ...

it works!!

You can see it here.. Lottery Topsites
I think I'll see if I can change the layout later, right now I am pleased I got the bloody thing working.

and finally, adsense news...

The past 2 days have been a bit paupery, sub 50c days. Today I saw I had 4 clicks...but, they added up to 4c hehehe. never mind, this whole adsense journey is teaching me some good tricks

Made a topsites like Wissam tip says

Over on Human-01 blog Wissam talks about making a top site, he has made one for Anime and I've now made one for Lottery (Lottery Topsites) , I had to search quite a bit to get the buttons to update properly but now I've done it with some small code that forces the browser to not cache the php page for the button so all is good again.

Adsense earnings are up again! I've been told not to reveal my earnings on the web but I am allowed to say it had it's first day of going over 1 dollar yesterday! yippee, maybe I'll get to the 100 dollar payout limit within the year hehe.

This is quite good fun though, finding out new things and the best ways to earn with adverts. Once I am more comfortable with ad placements and site creation I will be able to put all I learn into a lot more new sites. Hell, if I can get 50 sites all earning a dollar a day that'll be 1500 a month!

total adsense earnings : more!

Interesting video about keyword ranking and SEO

I haven't bought the Michael Cheney videos (yet) but I did subscribe to his free lessons and the first one (albeit slightly hypey) did mention a good point about how to get your site noticed for particular keywords.
It's something I have noticed myself over the years and also something I've noticed that not many people do.

It's all to do with how you link to your site, if you ask people to use the words "Kerbuple fift" as the text of an html link (Kerbuple fift) then when that term will be linked to your address, if you have many links out there all saying visit Kerbuple fift then you will better your position in the search engines for that term!

I did the same sort of thing a while back but with a photo, a lot of my friends call me gay so I engineered this to happen on a Google image search for "not a gay guy" (here is the full page of not a gay guys! the first picture is me!)

My adsense on my VWD elottery blog is the best performing so far, yesterday it had 3 clicks for a massive 30c ,only 10c a click but after I used the competitive filter to remove certain sites from the adverts it seemed to go up, today I have already had 2 clicks for 59c ! yey! is this against TOS to reveal these numbers?

Google analytics hasn't shown any keyword searches for my Xbox 360 Videos video blog yet but at least it knows the site exists so it will only be a matter of time. I've blogrolled it on my PR5 blog so that will help the process.

OMG I dreamed about the secret adsense code that makes you thousands

Grrr. this adsense malarky has infected my brain. It's all I can think about recently, "what site shall I make next?" , "what keyword shall I build around" , "what..." and so on.

Last night I had a dream that I found some secret adsense code that would make me tons of money from small clicks, it also had something to do with a 486x60 banner that did something magical! oh dear!

I've been searching around for adsense ebooks and videos to fill my brain with new info and I've been reading a lot of posts at the Digital Point forums. I did see one rather large page advertising some videos by Michael Cheney who apparently makes 19k a month with his adsense sites. Only $97 to get access to all that information but is it worth it?

I can easily afford the $97 and I'm happy to pay that kind of money to save myself the trouble of actually going out there and finding all the information myself (something I did with my lotto site). But, even if I can afford something, it pisses me off when it's a complete sham or waste of time when I receive it so I am still umming and arring over going for it.

On a more informative note... I added this and my other sites to Google analytics and they are starting to collect data now. This site here has already been visited by 7 different countries and I haven't done anything to promote it yet!

more later if I decide to purchase the videos.

Current adsense earnings : $17.73

Another day of adsensing today, I think I'll keep a running total of what my adsense earnings are as I do this.
Yesterday it was $17.51
and this morning when I woke up it was $17.58 !! 7c for going to sleep. hehe it doesn't sound like much but I only started this less than 24 hours ago. lol

I don't know where it came from so I guess I'll go off to google and have a read about channels and see if they can make a difference....

OK, so it seems that there are 2 types of channels.

URL and Custom.

The first one lets you track the clicks from individual sites (or pages) and the other needs you to put custom adsense code on the site you want to track and seems to be more work but probably more powerful. For now, I will use the URL channel feature and track the performance of ads from the 3 different sites and see which ones are performing well.

To create a URL channel:

1. Log in to your account at https://www.google.com/adsense
2. Click the Channels link below the AdSense Setup tab.
3. Choose the AdSense for content sub-tab and click the URL Channels link
4. Click Add new URL channel, and in the resulting text box, enter the URL that you would like to track.
5. Click Add channels.

The new URL channel will begin tracking data almost immediately.

To track a single page : enter the full path of the page in step 3 above:

Example : example.com/sample.html

If you have a script that generates your pages, like a blog or ecommerce site then you just put in the path to the script without the ? part.
ie. if you had http://blog.teamplaylotto.com/index.php?post=blah
then you would put
http://blog.teamplaylotto.com/index.php

I'm off to do that with my different sites too.

My Adsense Journey starts

I'm in the mood for blogging..lah la la... :-)

Here I am again making another blog! I've got 3 on the go at them moment, my lotto blog [link] , my xbox 360 videos blog [link] , and my little used Glytch Blog [link].

This one is all about my wish to make some money with adsense, I have been fiddling around with blogs and web design for quite a while now and I've always wanted a little fiddle with googles adsense code.

My journey started when I noticed a site by guy called Wissam [link] and thought it was a nice personal site rather than the pseudo-corporate sites that most other adsense earners make so I left a comment and now after an email or two and some Skype chatting I have entered the world of adsense income!

Wissam helped me out a bit by recommending Swiki [link] which will create a cloud of keywords on your site that is customisable by you and even the ability to add your own adsense code to their results which is useful for indexing because of the keywords.

Now all I have to do is create some content rich sites that can get indexed and get some traffic. My first one is the Xbox 360 Videos site and I've added adsense to the top and right side bars.

I've also added some google refer buttons on my lotto blog and now I'm going to add some here.

I used to have an adsense account before but I haven't logged on for months and months so it was a nice surprise to see it already had 17 USD in it! sweet. now only 83 more to go to get my first payment! (which should be electronically after I set it up with adsense)

Oh and also on my first day, I bought a list of the 2000 top keywords used by google which seems to be filled with references to insurance and equity/mortgage/secured loans. Hmmm don't think I'll be making any exciting sites about them!! There are some useful ones in there though and I'm sure some peeps may be able to get some use out of it. want it for free?

Subscribe to the mailing list and get the 2000 top keywords (as of August 2006) sent to you for free after 1 hour!
